Uttaranchal University was established in 2013 through the Uttaranchal University Act, 2012 (Uttarakhand Act. No. 11 of 2013) as a Private University, with its location in Dehradun, the capital city of Uttarakhand, India. The university has received recognition from the University Grants Commission, Government of India, as well as other statutory bodies of the State and the nation, under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956.
